“Haters” or “Trolls” are nicknames given to people who say mean and derogatory things and put people down mainly because they are different from them. Most often “Trolls” online tend to be anonymous. This type of behavior can be dealt with and changed. If you or someone you know is being bullied by a “Hater”, ignore it. Walk away. Don’t react or respond to negative comments. If it continues, there are other things you can do. If someone threatens you, in-person or online, share it with a parent, teacher, or other trusted adult!
Block online haters/trolls. If someone is making negative or hateful comments on your posts or account, or is cyberbullying, block them. If they’re threatening you, tell your parents, take screenshots, and share it with Safe2Help Illinois.
